celebrating the life and tragic passing of EDM icon, Avicii, although he was certainly not my favorite and was barely out of diapers while I was clubbing in the late 90s, it is hard to understate his contribution to dance music. At the age of 16, Bergling began posting his remixes on electronic music forums, which led to his first record deal. He rose to prominence in 2011 with his single "Levels", which i played today. His debut studio album, True (2013), blended electronic music with elements of multiple genres and received generally positive reviews. It peaked in the top ten in more than fifteen countries and topped international dance charts; the lead single, "Wake Me Up", topped most music markets in Europe and reached number four in the United States. I remember hearing its for the first time and being blown away! It was am outstanding pop- dance crossover track and the lyrics and vocals by Aloe Blac are achingly beautiful. It is worth a watch, so many performers coming out to honor him.
