Description

Local Philadelphia band Nothing are certainly something. They recently played South by Southwest and opened for the Raveonettes at the Theatre of the Living Arts. They have a demo out now and are releasing a record with the Japanese label, Big Love, with a sound that’s sort of like what would happen if The Cure put out shoegaze music. Each song on their demo, Poshlost, presents a full exploration of the concept behind it—for instance, on their track Last Day in Bouville the group takes a melody and constantly examines it in the light of a guitar solo and even a bass solo, then brings these elements together as a riff by the song’s end. This is a group of truly talented local artists that knows how to put on a great live show.
